where's the ice

lesser scaup

Somewhere between now and last week, the ice went out.
I still walked on the ice of moose skull lake, i think it was Sunday May 9.
Now it is suddenly gone.
Nothing left.
The trees suspiciously look like palm trees :)

Leaves are coming out and lupines coming up

To think the only ice we had all winter literally melted the very same day (and by 11 am). I could be wrong, but I think I just heard the helicopter fly by that sprays for mosquitoes in town. Because the water didn't drop it's been a light mosquito season so far in the swamps. That's because the mosquito fish didn't get a big "dry down" die off.

Hopefully you got some good spring ski trips in ... Now with the snow gone you can't cover as much ground (That's what Mary told me ...).

And yep, that's the helicopter all right. It just went by again.

Outside i luckely only hear the owl :)
Watching the ducks this afternoon, i realized how nice spring is, when there is no swarms of mosquitoes yet.
I know what Mary is saying, but she skis faster than i do :)

Hi Aria, you know me, i rather put up with the mosquitoes, it's always good practice in staying at Peace in times of adversity.

The ice melted and now you are getting different looking pictures. You are such an outdoors person and you find such interesting things to photograph.
