yesterday
we were still skiing
today a little too wet

chasing butterflies

how glorious can life be

this mourning cloak she landed right in front of me

yes i was a little sad

mourning times of past

my cloak blew off there on the hill

and just before she sat so still

i dreamed that i would get this gift

the fluttering around my head

the singing higher yet

and beyond my normal vision

i am on this glorious mission

Easter gifts

I saw 6 Mourning Cloaks today!
the first butterfly to be on the wing here.
Last year it was out on april 16, it is a pretty predictable sign of spring.
Over the last 14 years out as early as the 16 of April as late as the 25th.
Because it is fluttering around my yard all day, it is hard to miss. On the hill i found little nests of crocusses buds, they are a little late too

of brilliant blue

i long to dance upon a cloud

decent with swans

in water barely there

its' the mountain bluebird

that tells me spring is surely here

with a brush of southern wings

the summer slowly reappears

spring is here!

Ahhhh i will just 'twitter' (i don't know nothing about twitter :) spring notes: I HEARD SWANS this morning on my morning ritual to the outhouse, or geese. Agghr i am such a none birder, never quite knowing which sound belongs to which bird, till i see them together (well i will always know the chickadees and actually more) but mostly only when i see the bird, the sound makes perfect sense, like well of course i know that sound belongs to that bird. AND i saw a single swan last Friday on the waters by Carcross. Again there was not a 1005 knowing, as in this case i didn't stop to watch and i did not have binoculars But it is all happening, the yard is snow free, during the day it is above zero everyday All of you , have a glorious day, jozien x

the things i say

I just said; i will try to do a post, but as i go into my pictures of the last few days, i happened to look at the clock. Where did the day go! it's 7 pm and i didn't even think about supper hmmm it will be salmon (our own last years catch), still patatoes from my garden also last years, and veggies, i 'll have to see... better get to it and :) i did post a photo from around Frazer (BC) where i was yesterday
