    this is a great photo of you tip toeing through the snow. Question. Not having seen snow since the 1980's. Don't people wear those tennis racquets on their feel to spread the load, or is that just in the movies?

    yes, spindrift we do use snowshoes, quite a bit, it's even a sport.
    I only use them when the snow is deeper than say two feet.
