takhini saltflats

Artesian wells bubble underneath the salt flats, infusing the area with minerals such as sodium sulfates. (copied from  http://www.taiga.net/yourYukon/col142.html)

Walking around there yesterday, we noticed some peculiar rocks,  looking like lava rock. Some rounded, fist sized, boulders. And  lots of small piece of crust like rocks of the same looking material. In those crusty, rockhard pieces, we saw sparkles ( what do you call that again?) like as in granite.

Do artesian wells make such rocks, or bring them to the surface. Or is an artesian well a volcanic vent? To me it all was reminiscent of an old volcano crater.....

this is.....

what summer looks like in some places
hmmm okay,
ahhh
no words today
can i have a no word day today?
can i sigh and fuzz?

tiny clumbs of spring flowers in august
they must have started blooming underneath the melting snow
alexander's strong hug felt so good
come and gone again that kid

when i breath i feel i deny that there's a lion in my chest, it makes me so tired carrying around that lion . when i climb the mountain the load is light, we're in the clouds, my clothes are warm when i take them them off to lay  down in snow. the lion roars when i  look into his face. i know lions don't roam the glaciers, he is only there because he is with me.
the glacier didn't even show, this summer sunshine couldn't penetrate the ice fields, they talk of floods, but here i guarantee no ice is melting to cause such grief. all safe for yet another winter.
i breath you breath our breaths don't show because  of clouds, moving in moving out. the breath of the lion , a smile forms on our frozen lips
we are warm and safe together

visual poetry

(click on photo to see it full screen)

i know there is people out there, "you", that can put words to a sight like this, all i ask is; are you a star (aster)? or an old man in spring (erigeron)?

why flowers?

to write the question simple like that, another things come to mind. Why do we and to speak for myself, why do i love flowers so much? and that brings me instantly to the point that they also attract me as a human being. Why so beautiful? there much be some merit in it for them or me, that i am attracted.to them. other then soil for example and different then rocks or water, etc. flowers are the way they are so i do not step on them. and that i love them lots different then a blade of grass. so that is established, they need my love more.
and i know, i need their love too, what would i be without them?
i think when things left natural, anywhere everywhere the amount of flowers will be startling. don't think the desert or the arctic has few flowers. and i do not want to go into the aspect of biodiversity, we all know , i hope, we need biodiversity, even i can't explain it.
first there is the planet, water seeps in,  life starts, haha it is so simple flowers are the way to reproduce. yes i did know that just like you, it's not something i discovered today. and trees do not need my love so much they are big and strong and very happy with themselves. "oh my dear flower are you so insecure, please know that i love you." if i step on a tree it won't die, i think it actually likes me to climb in them, but that's another story. And their reproductive way is high up i couldn't even step on it. of course we also have cherry blossom, they exist to shower me with love, that's it, my  point made.
dear dear ofcourse flowers are abundant where ever life is just starting. how would trees be able to grow if it wasn't for flowers preparing their bed. but the question really came from parzival who found himself walking on a flower meadow surrounded by snow and rock. flowers that barely have enough time to reproduce, where trees never will grow.  insects and birds and animals live there because the flowers are there. that's it! where would the birds build their nest and have enough food to feed their young when there wasn't enough insects or seeds. that's what birds need. oh maybe you meant why all the colors here high up in the clouds, why not just have pink flowers? hmmmm well i as a human  i wouldn't wander such meadow for hours. ahhhh are they sneaky these flowers? do they say; step on her and come to me because i am blue and not yellow. that is part of nature saying me me me. that is nature. maybe this question has no simple answer it is just the way it is and i am gloriously happy for it. and i love for you to give me a simple answer to why.

Nagoon... Nagoon!

don't believe me, you know that right? I lie. this little whorl of pink is only half the size.
i searched the woods today for orchids. do you still buy them in the store? orchids, it was the rage right? i know how they grow them, it's called money. i've seen it, i do not understand it. i don't know why. a man goes to the bank and gets a loan, big,  he builds big, he hires cheap workers and they call it progress,.i have heard it is collapsing  such an economy. the orchids were beautiful i have to say, they are big and i search the woods for something smaller then the nail of my pinky,  i polished his pinky nails pink too. that's a lie too, how men are real men. i found two orchids today,  searching endless swamp land through the dark spruce forest. i know i think them beautiful because they are what i call a perfect flower. like the perfect man is very feminine. and i a nymph. i wish. nagoon! there suddenly in all that endless swampy forest, only three. can you imagine each grows one berry, a raspberry, so actually many droplets. and the man says i should not cry. and i don't, when i am in the forest i am the goddess and i don't even know sadness does exist. have you ever sat on top of someone lovingly, and try to remember why you were sad. well it doesn't work. when you are happy, you can't be sad. olli just skyped, he's  such a playing hard to get, such a gorgeous specimen of manliness , he says hi and gone, nagoon, three berries in that whole forest, who gets to eat them, which little mouse is so lucky? i like to write like this. i forgot to pay attention to dialogue. olli didn't know i could hear him, but i did, and i can still here his voice, i love his voice, everything about him, he is one person in this big big world, he lives in a big big city, one person and he granted me three words, i forgot which ones, it started with, oh! and then mumble. mumble jumble i wrestle me on top of you, laughing and the tiny orchids, we can't crush them because there's only two. don't we realize how fragile is this world, that we really have to try connect. that no matter how small, it matters big time. still it is a miracle that in this land where forest are so endless, tiny flowers grow, one day i will paint your toenails love, when i sit on top of you.

it was me and now i am a so sad, it was me who cut him off and i didn't even know. one orchid less , but i know , the roots still there and next year it will be back.
